Step 1: Prep the Carrots

Begin by prepping the carrots. If you want to use baby carrots like me, remove them from the package and give them a good rinse. Then pat them dry with a paper towel or a clean kitchen towel.

If using standard carrots you can peel them or leave the peel on. But still, make sure to give them a rinse and dry them. If they are large cut them halves and even quarters. You could make them almost like fry shapes.

Step 2: Add That Seasoning

Drizzle on the olive oil or use a cooking spray. Then add all the seasonings. Give the bowl of carrots a good toss or mix with a spoon.

Step 3: Make That Glaze

I love a good honey butter glaze. To make the glaze just mix together the honey and softened butter in a bowl.

If you don't want to use the glaze then skip this step.

Step 4: Cook Those Carrots

Pour the carrots into the air fryer basket and arrange them in one layer. Then baste them with half of the glaze if using the glaze.

Cook for 8 minutes using 375F/190C on the air fryer. No need to preheat it.

Then remove the basket and give the basket a good shake. Baste the warm carrots with the remaining glaze.

Replace the basket in the air fryer and cook another 8 to 10 minutes until the carrots are fork-tender.

Step 5: Serve

There you go! Amazing air fryer-cooked carrots with a savory or sweet option. This makes a great side dish for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. And it is nice because you don't have to use the oven since it might already be occupied with something else like Turkey or ham.

NOTE: You can cook these in the oven as well. Set the temp to 400F/205C and place the carrots on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Roast them for 30 to 50 minutes depending on the size of the carrots, again cook them until fork tender.
